| About John Reed
Racing John Reed Racing was founded by legendary tuner John Reed. John has worked in the automotive and high performance/racing industry for over 15 years. His career started with Toyota and he was soon lead diagnostics/electronics technician including at the time the new hybrid system when they came out. Since high school, he has also been involved with modifications to motorcycles and cars. Due to his experience with such platforms as the Toyota Supra and MR2, along with diligence to always doing the highest quality work, the demand for his services doing modification work overtook what could be done within the confines of his day job. In 2004 he left to work for TorqueFreaks, where along with doing high quality mechanical work he also excelled at tuning engine management systems. From word of mouth feedback, demand for his services increased dramatically, both in the local market and worldwide. TorqueFreaks began to offer travel tuning, and John has since (and continues to) travel the world providing high quality tuning and consultation. 2006 brought ownership changes to TorqueFreaks and John left to join a new company in town, RRev Motorsports. At RRev, he continued to be in high demand for tuning, along with a growing demand for his high quality custom wiring, especially in the Dodge Viper market. While at RRev he wired and tuned their Toyota Supra, a methanol fueled beast that is still the fastest Supra in the NW, and one of the top 10 quickest in the world. Early 2009 brought the decision to start his own venture, and John Reed Racing was born. He continues to offer the highest quality wiring/tuning/race preparation services and currently is also heavily involved in wiring/tuning the fastest Lamborghini’s and Vipers on the planet. He also provides track support for many racing teams/series throughout the year. John’s education includes an AAS degree in automotive technology, EFI 101 advanced training, MoTeC V3 software and dealer training, HKS trained VPro tuner, and he stays up to date on the latest advancements in software and hardware as it pertains to his niche of the automotive industry. John enjoys mountain biking, racing shifter karts, skiing, jet skiing and just generally spending time with family and in the outdoors. |
